#1- He was an influential French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation. He was a principal figure in the developement of the system of Christian Theology later called Calvinism.

#2- John Calvin was the son of a lawyer.

#3- He was born in Noyon, Picardy and was therefore a Frenchman.

#4- Calvin developed a love for scholarship and literature.

#5- In 1523 he went to the University of Paris where he studied theology.

John Calvin is very important to history because he came up with his own Christian Theology called Calvinism. He introduced other church forms and published a book called The Institutes of Christian Religion. He preached sermons each week. John Calvin is a very important man.
